Website design in Cheshire

Our step-by-step web development process

Discovery & Proposal

After getting in touch with our helpful team, we’ll start mapping out your business goals and how a website can help you achieve them.

A website is so much more than just an online business card – we want to make sure yours attracts and converts new customers for you. To do this, we need to get clarity on what your current website lacks, what you want your new website to help with (selling online, booking appointments, advertising your full list of services etc.), and where it fits into your marketing strategy.

With everything fully mapped out, we can give you an accurate scope of work with a price to get everything you want achieved.

Competitor Research & Analysis

Once we know where you want to go and how to get you there, we can start researching your competitors, relevant keywords your target audience are searching for, and design ideas that best suit your brand.

Website Content

Once we have all that information, we can get started on your sitemap and content. A visual sitemap will help you see the website structure easily and provide feedback. At this stage, we can start creating your written content (copywriting). We’ll use our keyword research to refine your written content to appeal to both human readers and search engines alike. If you opt to write your own website text, we can provide copywriting resources and guidelines to ensure the copy is engaging and is written well for the search engines too. You can either provide your own professional photos or opt for some stock photos (no cheesy ones, we promise!)

Web Design

Finally the fun part! Our talented designers will create a mockup of your home page and any other brand assets you’ve opted for (a new logo, business cards etc.). Once you’re happy with the design of the home page, we’ll move onto the rest of the site’s design.

Website Build

With designs done and content gathered, it’s time to get this thing built! At this stage we will work through the technical SEO and on-site SEO action items which will ensure Google can crawl your site so that it can appear within the Google index and search results. Any final tweaks / adjustments will be batched up and completed. Once you’ve approved, your new website is launched!

Support, Maintenance & Marketing

Once your website is live we’ll decide together what next steps are right for your business. Depending on your business goals, we’ll choose which Care Plan or Growth Plan is the best fit to continue to support you as your business evolves.

Sounds great! Let’s get started

Website design & development FAQs

I bet you’re thinking “Not another boring set of frequently asked questions about websites” that just goes on and on about how we’re the best web design company in Cheshire.

Well, just like when you work with us, there’s none of that rubbish – we’re here to give you honest, open advice on what’s best for your company.

So let’s start with some website questions and answers you’re actually interested in hearing.

This depends on the type of website functionality and how important it is to rank high on Google. A website is not just ‘words and pictures’ it’s an essential marketing tool and lead generator. Our projects have ranged from £1500 – £20,000 + and our goal is to provide good ROI for years to come.

Remember: a website is not a set-it-and-forget-it kinda deal, you’ll need to pay for hosting every year (think of it like paying rent for an address on the internet), and support/maintenance to prevent security issues.

Our average website project takes 8 weeks to complete.  The content creation and design phase of a website usually takes the longest but we have great copywriters and designers which help keep it on track. And it can be a lot quicker depending on the assets we need to create. For ecommerce websites this is normally 10 – 12 weeks. Take a look at our 8 Week Sprint program.

This depends on the type of website you’re investing in. Generally speaking, you’ll want to have these ready for your web design team to start:

  • Your logo in the correct format.
  • Professional photos of you, your team, your offices/shop
  • Outline content for the website e.g. text, videos, PDFs, any downloads you want to include
  • Team member bios
  • Login details to your existing website/hosting and domain.

With Google, there are no guarantees to the top spot on the search results, however we have successfully achieved the number one spot for many of our clients for relevant keywords in their industry.

All of our websites come with technical SEO and on-site SEO (search engine optimisation) already implemented when they launch. Our ongoing SEO plans work to improve your rankings long-term and for a wider range of keywords building traffic and authority online. Check out our SEO programs here.
